- When John Mullaly hug the limelight 2 0r 3 years back and then followed by Sylvester Ram Sagad, they never wanted to be the biggest names in Philippine TV firmament. They are there primarily to win the Century Tuna Super Bod titles, pocket some half a million pesos and then kick some butts too in the process, but strangely fate has different plans for the two as they are now included in a long list of successful male models shining oh-so-brightly in the ABS CBN stable of stars.
This year Century Tuna Superbods will continue its tradition of looking for who's who in the men's department. And if John Avila and Ram Sagad are gauges of more good things to come ... then Century Tuna surpass its own trailer. You know what I mean.
For movies, the trailer shows you the choice bits of scenes in a rapid-fire fashion. The trailer also gives you an impresion of how exciting the full length feature is going to be. And then when you see the movie in its entirety ... it turned out to be a big disapoointment!
Not so with Century Tuna. The trailer (John Avila and Ram 's winning) was a slambang, a hyperkinetic carnival entertainment ride. Who could forget John Avila outsmarting tried and tested thespians in the modelling industry and have them bit the dust? And who could forget
Ram Sagad making JC Tiusejo(GMA's Survivor's hunk) Raphael Kiefer (Best Model Philippines 2003 winner) and popular models like Joevince Canizares and James Zablan kowtow to their knees?
This year's contest is another tug-of-war as it promises to be another shoo-in for potential controversies and upsets. Ervic Vijandre is the most visible of the lot with his connection with the Marimar heroin aside from being a baseball star, Then there's Joseph Kidwell who also has a title to defend being Man of The Year. Van Victor Leano and David Nagtalon has entered showbiz too and Rey Talosig was SOP's resident singing hunk.
