Aj Dee brother of De La Salle University’s swimming superstar Enchong Dee, has been with his discoverer network ABS-CBN from the day he started his showbiz career. He was introduced in it’s then noontime show, “MTB: Ang Saya Saya” in 2004 as one of the “TV Idols”. From that time on, the network has constantly been giving him projects ranging from hosting stints to movie and teleserye appearances. However, upon the expiration of his contract on February this year, he decided not to renew with Kapamilya network. In an interview, he related that after being introduced to his current manager, Popoy Caritativo (who is closely affiliated with GMA7, his talents Marian Rivera and Dennis Trillo being two of the Kapuso network’s brightest stars), he has been consulting the latter about career decisions. Sometime before his contract expired, AJ finally decided to have Popoy manage his career. And naturally, Popoy transferred him from ABS-CBN to its rival station GMA7.
To welcome his transfer to GMA7, the Kapuso network has arranged that he be a part of the cast of its latest sitcom, “Show Me Da Manny”, featuring international boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao and the network’s primetime darling Marian Rivera. Along with AJ, the other members of the cast are Paolo Contis, Benjie Paras, John Lapus, Rochelle Pangilinan, Lovi Poe, Kevin Santos, Tuesday Vargas, Mike “Pekto” Nacua, Lito Camo, Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco and Manny’s real-life mother, Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao. “Show Me Da Manny” premieres tomorrow night August 23, 2009, after “All-Star K!”.
